Unleashing the Power of Platform Economies: Professor Junhong Chu’s Research Journey
Professor Junhong Chu is a Professor in Marketing at the HKU Business School. She held Doctoral Degrees in both Demography from Peking University and Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
With a passion for teaching, outspoken personality and curiosity, Professor Chu was drawn to a career in academia. HKU’s wonderful research environment, Hong Kong’s proximity to her family in Mainland China and the opportunities presented by the Greater Bay Area making HKU Business School the perfect fit for her scholarly pursuit.
Professor Chu’s research interests revolve around platform economies and sharing economies. She specializes in empirical modeling and focuses on studying the interactions between businesses or players on these platforms.
When being asked what words of wisdom she would give to her students, she advises her students to always find a way to achieve their goals, remain persistent, and work hard. She believes that the saying “God helps those who help themselves” holds true, and that success is achievable through dedication and effort.
