Gerelt Oyunbold came all the way from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to pursue his dream and passion of studying in Hong Kong. As an outstanding individual, HKU awarded him the Belt & Road Scholarship to study economics and finance.
Gerelt’s philosophy in life is that every difficulty in life serves a purpose, and any obstacles and difficulties are signposts pointing to something brighter down the road.
Shahab Khan came from Pakistan to Hong Kong not being able to speak English and Cantonese, and against the odds he overcame the language barrier and the difficulties of adapting to a new life. He was awarded the “Towy Lisle Scholarship”, and has embarked on a new journey studying accounting & finance.
With the tremendous opportunity and financial support he has received from HKU, Shahab wishes to give back to society through voluntary work, mental support, mentorship and the establishment of scholarships in future.
