Dr. Hailiang Chen receives INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award 2022

Congratulations to Dr. Hailiang Chen on winning the INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award 2022.

The ISS Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award recognizes and honours individuals who are on a path towards making outstanding intellectual contributions to the information systems discipline.

Dr. Chen is the first information systems scholar in Asia Pacific to receive this distinguished award. He is also a winner of the prestigious AIS Early Career Award in 2019.

Dr. Chen’s research interests include social media, fintech, social finance, and channel management. His research has been published in top-tier journals such as Information Systems Research, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Management Information Systems, Management Science, Review of Financial Studies, and Strategic Management Journal. His research has also been featured in the popular press such as Forbes, New York Times, Reuters, and Wall Street Journal.

HKU Business School Reveals 1.7 Times Surge in Employee Burnout Post-COVID; Innovative Interventions Essential for Stress Reduction and Customer Service Excellence
Institute of Behavioural and Decision Science (IBDS) at HKU Business School (HKUBS), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Association for Customer Service Excellence (HKACE), conducted a series of new research studies covering approximately 1,000 employees from the service industry across both the public and private sectors in Hong Kong. The studies found that the employee burnout rate has increased by 1.7 times compared to pre-pandemic levels.
