FBE Team Places 2nd Runner-up in CFA Institute Research Competition

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that offers a simulating setting for participants to act as real-world research analysts. 11 teams each representing a local university joined the 2017 – 18 final competition in Hong Kong. Each team analysed a HK listed company in-depth with the assistance of mentors, met the company management and wrote a research report on the company with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation. The five teams with the highest written report scores then presented their investment research to the panel of judges at the report presentation and award ceremony, and be advised of judges’ comments and recommendations. 

Congratulations to HKU FBE’s team who won the 2nd Runner Up, and thanks to their advisor Mr. Jimmy Woo. Team members are:

On 19 February, the HKU team “Invezture” were crowned champions of the Family Office Association Hong Kong (FOAHK) 2025 Case Competition. Congratulations to our student team for winning the First Place in McDonough Business Strategy Challenge 2025!   McDonough Business Strategy Challenge is an international undergraduate case competition hosted annually by Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., USA. This year, the competition brought together 16 student teams from top business schools around the world to tackle real-world challenges by the non-profit sector.
