About the Speaker:
Irene OL Wong, CPA, CGMA, is the Founder of ixFintech Limited, responsible for the company strategies, product design and operation. Ix Fintech Limited, founded in 2015, is a firm focusing on finance innovation and located in the Hong Kong Cyberport. The company has just launched its first app ixOption in August which aim to provide a one stop platform on option for learning, trading and risk management. The mission is to promote financial literacy and bring a new user experience to option learner.
Before her launch of the ixOption App this year, Irene is a seasoned professional in the finance industry specialized in Asia equities and derivatives trading. Her team has introduced the first app for Hong Kong stock exchange in 2013 which at that time only focusing on Hong Kong listed option. Before joining HKEX, she worked for three global hedge funds including Eton Park and Lionhart as Head of Trading (Asia) and is experienced in hedge fund strategies and trading. She was an open out-cry floor trader from 1996 to 1999 with Morgan Stanley and executed many global hedge funds order during the Asian financial crisis. Between 2001 and 2003, Irene managed the operation and business development of Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited and launched the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index Futures together with HKEX.
Graduated from London School of Economics with a Bachelor degree in Economics and a Master degree in Finance from the University of Hong Kong. She also took various financial engineering and executive management courses at Stanford University and Wharton Business School. Irene is a US qualified CPA and CGMA. She spoke on TV, radio and being guest speakers for international conferences such as China International Derivatives Forum and Futures and Options World etc. Currently also a newspaper columnist on economic and investment topics for Hong Kong Economic Journal.
